2. (to equalize)
a. to make level
Corta un pedacito aquí, para que emparejes los dos lados.Cut a little bit here to make both sides level.
b. to level
Vamos perdiendo, pero todavía hay tiempo para emparejar el marcador.We are losing, but there is still time to level the score.
An intransitive verb is one that does not require a direct object (e.g. The man sneezed.).
3. (to equate)
a. to catch up with
Estoy más atrasada que tú en la tarea, pero voy a tratar de emparejar contigo.I'm far behind you in the homework, but I'll try to catch up with you.
