Word of the Day

Are you familiar with our Word of the Day feature? If not, take some time to check out the recent Words of the Day! Learning one new word each day is a fantastic way to practice Spanish poco a poco(little by little) together!

Your student can compile each month’s Words of the Day in a poster or flash cards to practice them, or they could create a Vocabulary list with their favorite words!

Vocabulary Lists

Looking for a way to help your high school student improve their vocabulary retention or spelling in Spanish? Our Vocabulary section is ideal! There are two ways to help your high schooler practice Spanish using our vocabulary section:

Do you need help creating a vocabulary list? Check out these Help articles!

Note that you can toggle between fill-in-the-blanks answers and multiple-choice answers by using the button in the top-right corner of the screen. This button looks like either an Aa or four squares, depending on the current type of answer you see.

Vocabulary lists are an excellent way to prepare for upcoming exams. When your high schooler is just starting out with a vocabulary list, using the multiple-choice option is great—it allows them to get familiar with the terms and how they’re spelled.

Once your high schooler is more confident with the terms, then it’s time to switch to the fill-in-the-blanks answers! This teaches them how to spell each term properly, which is important on exam day.

Learn Spanish Course

The Learn Spanish course is ideal to do together with your high school or homeschool student. This course has been carefully designed to help students learn vocabulary and grammar through structured lessons.

You will also have the opportunity to hear the sentences used, which will help develop listening skills in Spanish!

How Does Learn Spanish Work?

Check out our very first Learn Spanish lesson, Introduce Yourself!

Each Learn Spanish lesson is divided into two parts:

  • A series of lessons designed to help you learn by doing
  • An article about the vocabulary and grammar used in the lessons to help you review what you’ve learned

Tip for Parents

Read the article before your student starts the lesson to familiarize yourself with the concepts they will encounter in the lesson. This allows you to help them with the concepts in the lesson as you supervise their progress.

Learn Tip: Speaking

To practice speaking, use the Chrome browser to take Learn lessons. Make sure you have the microphone enabled!

Clear-Cut Conjugations

Does your high schooler have trouble with Spanish grammar and verb conjugations? Never fear, we’ve got a section for that here! You have two different options to help your high schooler with their conjugations: general lessons about each tense and conjugation drills. Let’s take a look at each resource.

Lessons to Master Each Tense

If you’re looking for general lessons about each tense, check out our tense lessons! Each tense has both an article explaining the tense and a series of interactive lessons that help your high schooler practice. Looking for a specific tense? Here’s the master list!

Conjugation Drills

If you’re looking to help your high schooler or homeschooler study a specific list of verbs, be sure to check out our Conjugation Drills section. You can personalize the drills to the max! You can choose the tense to practice, the categories (-ar? -er? Irregular?), the pronouns (Do you want to include vosotros[you, informal, Spain]?), the verbs, and how many questions you want to answer.

Primo Personalization Tip

Do you want to help your high schooler study a specific set of verbs? Create your own vocabulary list by clicking + Add New List. You can then use the verbs from that list in your own conjugation drill! Be sure to click the drop-down menu under Verbs on the Drill page, and look for your custom-made vocabulary list!

Whichever resources you decide to use together with your Spanish learner, there’s one tip we haven’t addressed yet: consistency is key. A little bit of Spanish every day goes a long way!
