Los bancos dejaron de emitir bonos.Banks have stopped issuing bonds.
5. (to say)
a. to express (an opinion)

b. to issue (a statement, press release etc)
El gobierno local emitió una alerta sobre los robos a mano armada en el centro.The local government issued an alert about armed robberies downtown.
c. to give (a verdict, an order)
El juez emitirá su fallo mañana.The judge will give his verdict tomorrow.
d. to cast (a vote)
Cuanto antes emitan todos su voto, antes obtendremos los resultados.The sooner everybody casts their vote, the sooner we will get the results.
