Below is the original contest:

Back on November 3rd, Issabela proposed an idea. The Picture of the Day. That idea has grown into what many members consider a welcome daily routine here at SpanishDict. "The Picture of the Day" engenders thoughtful consideration, comical relief, stimulating interchanges and of course, Spanish practice!

So I now present…

The 2009 Best "Caption" and Best "Picture of the Day” Contest

29 photos and captions have been nominated using the following criterion:

  1. The caption was in both languages, and
  2. Issabela’s photo had 5 or more votes, and
  3. The ‘best caption’ had 5 or more votes.

How can you vote?

  1. First click "Oldest" (más viejas) to see all 29 entries easily.
  2. Then look them over and pick your favorite photo and favorite caption.
  3. Next, click the link for the photo or the caption. This takes you to the original thread.
  4. Now vote for the photo and/or the caption. (Adding a comment counts as a vote.)

Please click the links to go to the original thread!

Don’t vote for your favorite here!

Issabela and the members who participated are the ones that deserve your vote. smile

What if you had already voted for one in the past?

You can vote again for this contest. Here's how. Simply add a comment to the photo or caption that is your favorite. All comments that are added will be counted as a vote (1 per member).

Remember: There will be two winners:

1) Issabela’s best photo, and

2) The best caption.

So vote for your favorite photo, and your favorite caption.

Voting ends Thursday, January 7th at 11:30pm GMT The photo and the caption that increased the most will each win!

And the winner gets ... well, I’m not sure about a prize yet... This is, after all, an unofficial contest. But hey! Who needs more of a prize than just having the satisfaction of being acknowledged as a valuable contributor to SpanishDict! grin

So take a stroll through the 29 entries in the nominees' gallery below, pick your favorites, make your vote and enjoy the memories.

LOL big surprise tongue wink hmmm confused cool smile rolleyes wink cheese (All of them!)

(Remember: Click the links then vote there, not here.)

Tip: Click "Oldest" to see all 29 nominees more easily.

Cool contest. My only pregunta is, is Sheila-Foster bribing people to vote for her comments? She wins nearly every one! Just kidding, I know her comments are funniest. :)) - webdunce, Dec 31, 2009
I don't know which one to vote for though. - webdunce, Dec 31, 2009
Thanks, Chaparrito. Lot of work, resulting in a most amusing thread. Some of the captions are New Yorker magazine worthy. - 0057ed01, Dec 31, 2009
All the contributors are wonderful. I look forward every morning to seeing what they and Issabela have come up with today. ( Payment for votes will be sent in small bills in a plain envelope :)) - sheila-foster, Jan 1, 2010

Actually, see the "dittto"? That is another house. I'm guessing it's a christmas decorating contest and the people or person who lives in the other house says "ditto" because they want to look the same as the really decorated house without the work. - Selena_Gomez2, Jan 4, 2010
So they just put "ditto" - Selena_Gomez2, Jan 4, 2010
It took me a while to notice that also. :-D - chaparrito, Jan 4, 2010
yeah same, didn't notice it until after I'd posted my answer hehe - Sammy16093, Jan 6, 2010
