1. (to dishonor)
a. to sully

b. to tarnish
El escándalo sexual mancilló a toda la familia real.The sexual scandal tarnished the entire royal family.
mancillarse
A pronominal verb always uses a reflexive pronoun. (e.g. Te ves cansado.).
2. (to be dishonored)
a. to be sullied
Mi nombre se mancilló aunque probé que todo lo que dijeron era mentira.Although I proved everything they said was a lie, my name was still sullied.
