A transitive verb is a verb that requires a direct object (e.g. I bought a book.).
1. (to insist)
a. to urge
Mi esposa vio mi herida y me instó a que vaya al hospital.My wife saw my wound and urged me to go to the hospital.
b. to press
El propietario me instó a que firmara el contrato de alquiler.The landlord pressed me to sign the lease contract.
An intransitive verb is one that does not require a direct object (e.g. The man sneezed.).
2. (to be pressing)
a. to be urgent
Insta que vengan a la tienda temprano mañana para ayudar con el lanzamiento del producto.It is urgent that you all come to the store early tomorrow to help with the product launch.
