A transitive verb is a verb that requires a direct object (e.g. I bought a book.).
1. (to extract) a. to squeeze Vamos a exprimir un poco de jugo de naranja para el desayuno. Let's squeeze some orange juice for breakfast. b. to squeeze out Agarré la toronja y exprimí el jugo. I grabbed the grapefruit and squeezed out the juice. 2. (to squeeze dry) a. to wring out Exprimí el traje de baño y lo tendí a secar. I wrung out my bathing suit and hung it out to dry. 3. (to abuse) a. to exploit La cazafortunas exprimió al viejito por su herencia y luego lo abandonó. The gold-digger exploited the old man for his inheritance and then abandoned him.
