An intransitive verb is one that does not require a direct object (e.g. The man sneezed.).
1. (to not agree; often used with "de" or "en")
a. to disagree
Discrepo de mi marido en muchas cosas, pero jamás nos planteamos el divorcio.I disagree with my husband on a lot of things, but we never thought about divorce.
Lamento discrepar, pero no creo que esa sea la mejor solución.I'm sorry to disagree, but I don't think that's the best solution.
2. (to not be the same; often used with "de")
a. to be different
Los colores de la foto discrepan mucho de los reales.The colors in the photograph are very different from the ones found in real life.
b. to differ
Las opiniones discrepan en lo que se refiere a las ventajas y desventajas de la Unión Europea.Opinions differ when it comes to the advantages and disadvantages of the European Union.
c. to be at odds
Los resultados de este análisis discrepan ligeramente de los que obtuvimos el año pasado.The results of this test are slightly at odds with the ones we obtained last year.

This refers to an idiomatic word or phrase for which there is no word-for-word translation.
