I had a dog that would sometimes sit when I said "Sit", but not consistently.

He liked getting a window seat on the plane, so he could watch the scenery below. enter image description here A él le gustaba tomar el asiento de la ventana en el avión, de esa manera podía mirar el paisaje debajo

In order to be comfortable I need to sit in a well designed Ikea seat, with support for the lower back region.

It is said that the sit-ups are strengthening the muscles of the belly. It is possible but they are very tiring.

We call the muscle groups helped in this exercise the "abs" short for abdominal muscles. This is not a correction to your English just some information. - Jubilado, Mar 28, 2015

mm if you don't put period before 'tal vez' would be correct 'es posible pero son muy cansadores (fatigosos is not much used but it's okay) - Pablo064, Mar 29, 2015
Gracias amigos - porcupine7, Mar 29, 2015
I ought to do some, but the thought is off-putting. Easier to stay seated! - annierats, Mar 29, 2015

We asked her to sit, but she did not sit. "I sat," she said, "so much yesterday as I have never sat before."

"Me senté," dijo, "tanto ayer como nunca me he sentado."

I cannot seat them, they already have been seated.

No puedo sentarlos, ya se han asentado.

Sit-ups defy gravity. Gravity is a law. I obey the law.
Los ejercicios abdominales desafían la gravedad. La gravedad es una ley. Yo obedezco la ley.

Relax

The Stone of Scone (the Stone on Destiny) was the ancient seat of power for the Scots kings and queens, and was designed to be portable so the royal court could move around the country. However, being portable was unfortunate because eventually the English stole it, and nowadays the new monarch of the UK is crowned on it.

There is a theory that the English were tricked and that the orignal stone is still in Scotland. Probably a myth just like so much else amigo. - ian-hill, Mar 28, 2015

Upon entering the stadium, he sought his designated seat, but was not able to sit in it right away, because some sot had already sat in it, which did not sit well with him, but soon the sot was unseated, and he was sitting in his rightful place.

(yes I know I said estaba sentado, and was sitting- not sentando or seated, but that was because I liked the English and Spanish versions I picked better than the alternative, even though they are only conceptually and not grammatically a match).

When the students enter the classroom for the first time, the teacher says, "Come in and have a seat."
