b. to clear

A pronominal verb always uses a reflexive pronoun. (e.g., Te ves cansado.).
2. (general)
a. to get unclogged 
Procuramos destapar el lavabo durante varias horas, y finalmente se desatascó.We tried to unblock the sink for several hours, and it finally got unclogged.
b. to clear 
Después de que el tráfico en la autopista se desatascó, pudimos ir más rápido.After the traffic on the freeway cleared, we were able to drive faster.
