1. (nautical)
a. to run aground
El barco encalló en un arrecife y tuvo que ser remolcado.The ship ran aground on a reef and had to be towed.
2. (to be unsuccessful)
a. to fail
El negocio familiar encallará a menos que nuestros ingresos aumenten.The family business will fail if revenue doesn't grow.

A pronominal verb always uses a reflexive pronoun. (e.g. Te ves cansado.).
3. (nautical)
