g [hay]
before the vowels a, o and u, has the same sound in Spanish as in English, but before e and i is the same as the Spanish j, or the English h strongly aspirated, as in hay, her, he. Before the diphthongs ue, ui, as in guerra, guión, the u becomes liquid, and the g has the hard sound as in the English word give; with a diaeresis over the ü, both letters have their proper sound as in agüero.
