"que no haya". No "es". - Gekkosan, Sep 17, 2017
@ Gekko , now I am in the dark , I think I understand , but then maybe not mate , my light is getting dimmer by the hour. - ray76, Sep 18, 2017
Ray, there are 2 subjects in your two clauses; separated by the relative pronoun 'que': 1st clause, Espero (I hope) The first person " I" is the first subject, okay so far ? - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2017
separated by que 2. the light is the second subject so you need the subjunctive form of the verb haber (hay = there is/there are) This is haya (subjunctive) not hay (indicative) - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2017
Ray, all you need to remember is that certain verbs of emotion trigger the use of the subjunctive eg esperar - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2017
but there must be two different subjects, one in each clause. Ex 1: "I hope that I will.find my pen" = Espero que encuentro mi bolígrafo uses the indicative because there is NO change of subject! You have used the first person "I" twice! - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2017
Ex 2: I hope that HE finds my pen = Espero que él encuentRE mi bolígrafo uses the subjunctive because there is a change of subject! In your example the light is counted as a separate subject (it = 3rd person singular) I hope this helps you understand :) - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2017
Well, sadly there is : ) - Ranman, Sep 18, 2017

In this family the frog can start a tradition and in the coming years instead of light bulbs they can use luminous frogs.

English is correct, but I think most would say it "start a tradition" or "begin a tradition". Y hola! :D - jrschenk, Sep 17, 2017
Hola amigo , muchas gracias. Tienes razón - porcupine7, Sep 17, 2017
:) "comenzar" would sound more natural - 00376109, Sep 17, 2017

Last time I ask for the extra-hot red curry! Talk about heartburn!

Incandescent frogs serve as Christmas tree decorations when the price of flies is less than the price of electricity.

Life is definitely better with coquíes. - Gekkosan, Sep 17, 2017
Thanks, Gekkosan.
- DonBigoteDeLaLancha, Sep 18, 2017

The frog's interior is illuminated by swallowing a Christmas light.

Poor little frog! He swallowed the refrigerator light bulb, and now I can’t find the cheese.

When his croak failed to attract the ladies, Kermit tried a more radical method.

"Graznido" is the sound crows make. - Gekkosan, Sep 17, 2017
Ha ha, oh dear. I'm not sure where I got that one from :) I made a bit of a mess of the whole sentence. Gracias Gekko. - jellonz, Sep 18, 2017

The frog electrician is working on the cables! He carries with him his own internal light source so he can more easily see what he is doing!

Either "lleva consigo" or "llevó consigo". - Gekkosan Sep 18, 2017

? ? Déjele brillar hasta que Jesús venga...
(Pronto, sospecho.)

? This little light of mine, ? I'm going to let is shine. ? ? Let it shine 'til Jesus comes...
(Soon, I suspect.)
