Stepan was abandoned at birth, and raised by a Russian couple. The grizzly bear grew up as a vegetarian so he isn’t inclined to attack people. - Nickelbackfan1, Apr 29, 2017
As far as I know the average bear , not the grizly, is able to live on fruits and vegetables and not attacks people, only in case of danger. - porcupine7, Apr 29, 2017
Hola Nick , ¿Que tal ? - ray76, Apr 29, 2017
Hola amiga, have another vote. :) - rac1, Apr 29, 2017
Happy Saturday everyone. Everything is alright Ray. Thanks amiga. - Nickelbackfan1, Apr 29, 2017
Bear attacks on humans are rare, but lone male black bears are responsible for most of the attacks that do occur. - AnnRon, Apr 29, 2017
Do you hike with bear bells, AnnRon? I did when I was in your neighborhood. - jtaniel, Apr 29, 2017

Pardon me for having slept in all your beds. Perhaps this picnic will make up for my impolite actions.

Nice bosque, have a vote. Nice use of indicative future instead of subjunctive after quizás to indicate a higher likelihood - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017

Niña: ¿Quisieras una garra de oso?

Girl: Would you like a bear claw?

Oso: No gracias, ya tengo bastantes. (El oso tiene sus propias garras)

Bear: No thanks, I already have enough. (The bear has his own claws)

Thanks for info, kenhuizenga! If I recall, Jraider (a.k.a., Craaaazy Cat, Gato Loco) had a nice photo of a bear claw in a recent word of the day entry :) - Sassette, Apr 29, 2017

Girl: This bear is very similar to my Teddy, just a little bigger.

When children get confused what is a real live bear and what is a teddy bear the results can be disasterous. The girl's head will be bitten off by the bear.

Oh, I didn't read the information in Nickelback's comment section. I didn't realize that some bears are not a threat to humans. - Sassette, Apr 29, 2017
I sure would like to hug a real live non-threatening bear.♥ - Sassette, Apr 29, 2017
Not all bears are cute and cuddly though. I would love to meet this bear. - Nickelbackfan1, Apr 30, 2017

I finally got my picnic basket. I told you that I was smarter than the average bear.

Si sales hoy en el bosque,
Será mejor que no vayas solo.
Es precioso en el bosque hoy
Pero más seguro para quedarse en casa.

If you go out in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today
But safer to stay at home.

? Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic! ?

Girl: Hey, bear, this is nice! I have my food, but what are you going to eat?

Bear: Grunt...

Girl: What's that, big teddy? Me? Why?

Bear: Grunt growl gruntly growl!

Girl: I do not taste good!

Bear: Sigh...

Girl: Good! Now go, and never come back!

Niña: ¡Oye, oso, es bien! Tengo mi comida, ¿Pero que vas a comer tú?

Oso: Gruñido...

Niña: ¿Qué es eso? ¿Yo? ¿Por qué?

Oso: ¡Gruñido gruñido gruñido gruñido!

Niña: ¡No tengo un buen sabor!

Oso: Suspiro...

Niña: ¡Bien! ¡Ahora, vete y nunca vuelves!

I would say: No tengo un buen sabor. Obviously, it isn't a very common phrase :) - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
I think it is safer than using No tengo un buen gusto, which could also mean I don't have good taste (I'm not sophisticated) - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
In your last phrase you use IR for the imperative form of go. Much more common would be vete = scram, the informal imperative of irse = to leave - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
vas a comer....with IR + a + another verb, the second verb always goes in the infinitive - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
Thanks! - CarterTF, Apr 29, 2017
Not irse...say vete, the conjugated form for tú :) You should only use the infinitive form of a command when used impersonally (to everyone) e.g. No fumar. (smoking is not allowed by anyone) - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
You still need to change comes to comer :) - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
Deserving of a badge. Enjoy, Carter. :) - Sassette, Apr 29, 2017

The bear speaks with a deep voice: "Hey, little girl...where's the honey? A picnic without honey is not a proper picnic!"

NKM: Your Spanish is a good literal translation of the English, but in Spanish they don't use tener with eating. They would use tomar. está tomando. Similar to the English: I take my coffee black. - DilKen, Apr 29, 2017
