It's the Pony Express!
For non-U.S. people, in the "wild west" days of the US, the Pony Express was the way mail was delivered across the country, usually going through hostile territory, having to avoid Native Americans and bandits. The "post men" would ride very fast ponies, and they would change ponies at relay stations all along the way. That died out when the telegraph was invented, then the railroads came into being. It made for some very good (?) western movies.
