Voy a hacer una audición para el papel de Arnold en un episodio de reunión de Green Acres. ¿Crees que lo parezco?

I'm going to audition for the role of Arnold in a reunion episode of Green Acres. Do you think I look the part?

Pablo, the Collins dictionary gives " parecerlo" as "to look the part." I thought that to use a conjugated form I would detach "lo" and put it before the verb. Do I have to change it to "me" as well? - AnnRon, Feb 14, 2016
Yes I understand and I tried to find and equivalent fro Spanish and nothing came, I can't understand 'crees que lo parezco' iit doesn't seem correct that's why I suggested something like 'do I look like him? - Pablo064, Feb 14, 2016

Desde que leí ese libro por de George Orwell, he tenido la idea de que un cerdo debería estar encargado a cargo de esta granja, y he estado haciendo preparaciones y practicando para tomar el poder.

Ever since I read that book by George Orwell, I have had the idea that a pig should be in charge of this farm, and I have been making preparations and practicing for the takeover.

Hola Nickel. Have you ever read the book I am referring to? :) - bosquederoble, Feb 13, 2016
I might of, do you recall what it is Bos? - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 13, 2016
I might have= I might've. Animal Farm, of course. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 13, 2016
Great caption, Bosque! :) I also thought about that same story, as soon as I saw the pig, especially the part where somr of the animals were looking through the window at the men in the room talking and eating, and the mren seemed to change into pigs lol - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2016
Oy how did I not guess that, yes I have read some of it. :) - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 13, 2016
'ese libro de George..' ;) 'estar a cargo' or 'debería ser el encargado' wow I never payed attention at the original name, in Spanish it is 'Rebelión en la granja' what did they change the name? :D - Pablo064, Feb 14, 2016
They made it a bit more descriptive in Spanish, didn't they. i should get it in Spanish and read that version. Thanks, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 14, 2016

En nuestro país si comemos cerdito en Nochevieja trae suerte, y este cerdito se disfrazó para esconderse de este destino.

In our country if we eat pig on New Years Eve that brings luck, and this pig disguised itself to hide from this destiny.

hahaha not lucky for the pig. I suggest ...we eat pork...and ... this destiny. - 00551866, Feb 13, 2016
I totally agree with Annie :) You could also say fate instead of destiny but destiny is better :) - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2016
Hola Porcu. :) - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 13, 2016
It would be better if you omit 'eso' before 'trae'..'y este cerdito' ;) - Pablo064, Feb 14, 2016
Thanks Andreknue, but we eat piglet - porcupine7, Feb 14, 2016

Setting: The wild West!

A drunk in a small town bar: "Now I sure know I shouldn't have had (ie: drunk) that last whisky ....unless ma (my) eyes are playing tricks on me (deceiving me) I can see a pig wearing a hat and necktie!"

The barman: " Well yes, you sure have had one too many, Ted Barnes ....but that pig's for real...you're not imagining it or we'ré all gonna (going to ) have to visit the shrink soon!

The sheriff: " Wait till I tell the folks (famlly) back home about this ...they're not going to believe me!"wink

debo de estar viendo visiones = My eyes must be playing tricks on me!
