There is an adage that says that one can't herd cats, but circus tamers have shown that with enough torture, it is possible to make animals exhibit many types of unnatural behaviors.

It usually workds better to train animals kindly, especially predators, Bosque, at least that's what I think. - annierats, Feb 12, 2016
is it torture , self protection from the wild beast, or could it be training? - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 12, 2016
It all depends on your philosophy of course. Too bad we can't ask the tigers if they would prefer to be in their natural environment, or in that cage. ;) - bosquederoble, Feb 12, 2016
True, but at least they do not have to hunt for food, water , or mates and territory. - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 12, 2016
Training methods have become more humane, at least somewhat and in some places, but the philosophy used to be that you had to hurt them to make them respect (read "fear") the trainers. - AnnRon, Feb 12, 2016
That is terrible. :( - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 13, 2016

Gracias, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 13, 2016
Obviously Bosque, they should be free, I just meant that the trainer is not necessarily cruel and in the free they are hunted down to extinction... - annierats, Feb 13, 2016
It clearly is a complex and multifaceted subject, and I would never claim to be logically consistent with my viewpoints. I only try to provoke thought. Dogs and cats have chosen to ally themselves with us- some get a better deal out of that, some not. : - bosquederoble, Feb 13, 2016
But I have always leaned towards leaving wild animals wild. Even though life in the wild is rough and dangerous. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 13, 2016

I'm well aware of the saying that they are also cats, just a little bigger , but I prefer to train a few small dog.

I believe it should be "dogs (plural) and just a bit bigger ones" but other then that your English sentence is great. :) - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 12, 2016
Actually, I would say that you could eliminate "ones." "Just a bit (or a little) bigger" gets the point across and is grammatically correct. - AnnRon, Feb 12, 2016
Gracias Ann, I did not think that sounded 100% right. :) - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 12, 2016

I hope that the colour purple is not the new color of meat.

Or the new red.

One tiger to another: Is it my imagination or is he looking more delicious than usual today? Those purple pants make my mouth water.

How boring dude, let's go to the house or to wherever there is Wi-Fi.

In Costa Rica "qué tigra" can mean boredom or hunger.

Tiger tamer: "So (well) guys, who wants to be the first to 'take me on' (fight me/fight with me) tonight?!"Tomorrow, another one of you can try (to do it)!

The tiger called Bozo " What makes him so sure he'll survive until tomorrow?!

Gnasher: "Yes friends, all for one and one for all! Come on, let's finish him off tonight ... he won't (isn't going to) know (realize) what's hit him!"wink

Or would it be: Uno por todo y todos juntos' ???

you can say 'bueno chicos/muchachos/tíos' but not 'tipos'..'en luchar conmigo esta noche'..'de que va a sobrevivir' wink - Pablo064 3 hrs ag

Muchas gracias, por tus correcciones, Pablo smile

I am trying to translate the famous saying of the Musketeers: "All for one and one for all!" wink

One for all, and all for one (Un pour tous, tous pour un; also inverted to All for one, and one for all) is a motto traditionally associated with the titular heroes of the novel The Three Musketeers written by Alexandre Dumas père, first published in 1844. In the novel, it was the motto of a group of French musketeers named Athos, Porthos, Aramis and d'Artagnan who stayed loyal to each other through thick and thin.[11][12] From Wikipedia

Original caption (Spanish only):

El domador de tigres: "Bueno tipos, ¿quién quiere ser el primero en lucharme esta noche! ¡Otro puede intentar (hacerlo), mañana!" wink

El tigre que se llama, Bozo:" ¿Cómo puede tener tanta confianza que va a sobrevivir hasta mañana?"

El tigre que se llama, Gnasher:" Sí amigos, ¡'Uno para todos y todos para uno! ¡Vamos a matarlo, esta noche ...no va a darse cuenta de lo que ha pasado con él!" wink

Take a closer look at the word translate mate. - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 12, 2016
Thank you my friend, Nickel but this saying is an idiom and translator machines are notoriously useless at translating idioms, I have already posted a question in the forum about this and received a great answer from Bosque - FELIZ77, Feb 12, 2016
lol, I meant you put tras;ate, instead of translate. Ps great post mate. - Nickelbackfan1, Feb 13, 2016

In our football here in Melbourne there is a team called The Tigers. I think they need a coach like this.
