Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where you can all practice your Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time!

Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the answer I feel is the best, the fact that the person has corrected their post and possibly the number of votes.

Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos.

Please encourage everyone with a vote. . .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Previous picture of the day: What can I get you sir?

Our surfboards have a seal of approval from the National Wildlife Federation.

¿Quién necesita una tabla de surf? Puedo surfear mejor sin usarla.

Who needs a surfboard? I can surf better without using it.

Con correcciones;

The seal; "Surfing is so easy . I can do it with my eyes closed! (or, in my sleep)! Look at me, mum!" wink

The mother seal: "It's a lot easier to do (It) when you are in the water, darling! You (one) can't learn how to surf on dry land!" wink

Mírame mamá' and it's okay but if you want to sound more natural you can say 'puede aprender a surfear en tierra firme' wink - Pablo064 18 hrs ago

Original caption (Spanish only):

¡Mira a mí, mamá!" wink

Synthetic things are bad for the environment. It is better to use natural resources to combat global climate change. Six more seals and then I can make my wet suit from natural materials.

;) :) - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
I would also suggest a very minor change to the last part of the last English sentence: "more seals and then (ie: after that) I can make etc.... y luego o (después) puedo hacer..etc - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Thanks Feliz. - 00551866, Feb 1, 2016
'Las cosas..para combatir el cambio. Seis focas más y...' ;) - Pablo064, Feb 2, 2016
Thanks Pablo. - 00551866, Feb 2, 2016
Andre, You are welcome :) You still need to add the Spanish word for 'then' "y: luego, puedo etc... - FELIZ77, Feb 2, 2016

Yo miro veo presumido , porque soy hermosa.

I look smug, because I'm beautiful.

Ray, I would say: Parezco (ser) petulante (o presumido if you mean conceited/full of oneself) porque soy hermosa. I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
The word 'look' in your sentence means: I appear (to be) smug; not I look at something (mirar) If I am looking at / watching / gazing at... the seal, then I would say; Estoy mirando a la foca - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Me veo presumido, porque soy hermoso. Or make them B O T H feminine. The have to agree. - Daniela2041, Feb 1, 2016
Thank you Feliz , and Feliz. I understand what you are saying I had not looked at it correctly. - ray76, Feb 2, 2016
Thank you also Dani , most enlightening deputy Feisty. - ray76, Feb 2, 2016
I used the last example as the easiest to use , and i am lazy. - ray76, Feb 2, 2016
Ray, You are welcome and I am pleased that you understood what I was saying (my earlier correction) You still need to complete your correction according to Dani's suggestion ME veo (not Yo veo) ;) - FELIZ77, Feb 2, 2016

This baby seal is very cute and I think he's sleeping like all the babies of the world.

I just ate four fish that I stole from the hooks of fishermen. Now my innocent face will elicit ooh's and ah's from the humans while I take a nap on this surfboard.

Ann, I love your caption :) To have / take a siesta = dormir o ecsharse una siesta i hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Thanks, Feliz. Yes, I found "ecsharse una siesta," but I also found "hacer una siesta" in more than one source. I'll do some more looking. - AnnRon, Feb 1, 2016
Ann, I love your caption :) To have / take a siesta = dormir o echarse una siesta. I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Correction above: Ann, since you have already posted Ann I won't remove my original comment - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Ann, yours could also be correct, in which case, please just view mine as providing valid alternatives :) - FELIZ77, Feb 1, 2016
Righto, Feliz. Thanks. - AnnRon, Feb 2, 2016
I never heard 'hacer una fiesta' o.o anyway it would be 'mientras hago una siesta' ;) - Pablo064, Feb 2, 2016
