The idea is to find an English word (synonym –- antonym related to the word –

T R Y (verbo, sustantivo) and then write a simple sentence in English and Spanish for that word.

Or an unusual use of the word.

Examples:

Come on, you can do it if you try.

Venga, lo puedes conseguir si lo intentas.

I’ll try my best.

We’re trying to find out what happened.

Estamos tratando de averiguar lo que pasó.

I tried hard not to laugh.

Hice un esfuerzo para no reírme.

I've had a very trying day today and I have no hope whatsoever that the night will be any better. I'll try to get some sleep now and I just hope my husband won't try anything else .

How good that you are trying to draw something! There are people with talent and there are ones who have only ideas.

Attempting, efforts, tried, trying, struggles.

He joined in the protests, attempting to make the world a better place, but the demonstration turned violent, and for his efforts, he was arrested and tried, but, although the experience was trying, his struggles to prove that he was not one of the rabble rousers that had infiltrated the movement were successful, and he was found innocent.

:) useful sentence - Pablo064, May 27, 2015
Thanks, Tiempo. Not so useful in my life I think, but hopefully it makes up for the one I did on Monday that you said was too easy for me. I think this one had a fair amount of complexity. ;) - bosquederoble, May 27, 2015

When young I had to play rugby at school. The first time I did this I accidentally performed a perfect tackle on a much bigger player and scored a try. Thus our teacher thought I was a rugby genius. I wasn't. Unfortunately I was a rugby clown. But this teacher put me in the first team with lots of big lads. Each week thereafter I was relegated to a team lower than the week before. Eventually I found myself in the bottom team where I could surround myself with other rugby clowns, and I was happy.

Thus I hate rugby.

..esto por/de (no both) casualidad le realicé.. mucho más grande...'e' hice (that's very important although it doesn't seem)..'hice un ensayo' is 'I did an essay' I mean it's very confusing - Pablo064, May 27, 2015
so if you are gonna use 'ensayo' then 'anoté un esayo' otherwise you could say 'hice un try' ;) 'profe 'pensó' que yo 'era' un genio 'del' rugby (you need to clear subject 'yo' in this case)..you can say 'en el equipo titular'... - Pablo064, May 27, 2015
Thanks, Tiempo... ;-) - Faldaesque, May 27, 2015
'después bajaba' you don't need subject here but it's okay ..semana 'anterior' y 'era felíz' or 'estaba alegre' but aren't the same I think that la palabra del dia created confusion with 'alegre'... - Pablo064, May 27, 2015
Sorry there were other corrections jeje - Pablo064, May 27, 2015
