Picture of the Day: Goal!!!

Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice our Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain more or less exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Here is the previous Picture of the Day: Red Card!

And here is the Picture of the Day:

That really hurts, it happened to me in two different occasions, if I am not mistaken. LOL

After the first hit you probably are mistaken ;) - ray76, Apr 15, 2015
To me, it would be more natural to say "on" two occaisons. I cannot say why anymore than I could say why things happen on Wednesday but in April. :) - bosquederoble, Apr 15, 2015
I agree. - rac1, Apr 15, 2015
or...it happened to me twice. - gringojrf, Apr 15, 2015
"On two different occasions " works for me , but it is probably cultural. And probably more in common usage to point out that the occasions were separate , not consecutive. - ray76, Apr 15, 2015

If he has that good an aim, I want him for my team- it needs some players that can score a goal.

Reporter: If I knew that this occupation is so dangerous, certainly I would have chosen something less dangerous.

Between the goal posts is a dumb place to put a TV podium...

Female commentator: "What the heck just happened?!

Male commentator: "One of the players (has) just kicked the ball off the pitch!"

Female commentator: "It's a good job that I have been practising my ball skills, recently, especially my headers, but if they want me to play (participate) they should ask me properly!"

(o correctamente)

o he estado practicando*

Llevo + gerund ( idiomatic grammatical construction used in Spain eg: Llevo aprendiendo español cinco años = I have been learning Spanish for five years) I learnt this from a previous native teacher from Spain. wink

Corrijan mi español, por favor smile

you have to clear that the player kicked the ball to avoid confusion (because you didn't mention the ball previously) ...acaba de patear el balón/la pelota fuera del campo...' :) - Pablo064, Apr 15, 2015
Muchas gracias por tu correccion, a tiempo : ) - FELIZ77, Apr 15, 2015
¿Hay otras correcciones? - FELIZ77, Apr 15, 2015
..a fews...'menos mal que recientemente estuve (or 'he estado') practicando...sobre todo los cabezazos(more natural than 'hacer los cabezazo' but it's okay)..deberían pedírmelo de manera... :) - Pablo064, Apr 16, 2015
