Weekend Subjunctive Practice 12: Es bueno que
¡Bienvenido a nuestro hilo! Each weekend, Cordobesa and I will present a different topic on everybody’s favorite subject… the subjunctive!
We will give an explanation of the topic, and a couple of examples.
Write sentences at least 5 words long. Write your Spanish sentence, and include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by Cordobesa in the comments section. Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.)
Post pictures if you’d like, and don’t forget to vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the topic as well as the number of votes.

Weekend Subjunctive Practice 12: Es bueno que
Explanation:
“Es bueno que” is another one of the many triggers that is followed by the subjunctive because the speaker is expressing a subjective opinion. Just because the subject of the sentence thinks that something is good, does not mean that everyone thinks that.
Examples:
Es bueno que puedas hablar todos los días en español.
It’s good that you are able to speak in Spanish every day.
Los dentistas dicen que es bueno que nos cepillemos los dientes por lo menos dos veces al día.
Dentists say that it’s good that we brush our teeth at least twice daily.

If there is not a change of subject, the infinitive is used. Here is the example above when talking about myself, and not “you”.
Example:
Es bueno poder hablar todos los días en español.
It’s good to be able to speak in Spanish every day.
