For those who don't see the catch, take a very close look at the sign...

Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Here is the previous Picture of the Day: Another step closer to a world ruled by cats...

And here is the Picture of the Day:

Might just need to focus on spelling of the English language.

She has enough time on her hands to protest but not enough to learn to read and write the language that she is protesting for.

It makes me wonder why she is bothering to protest at all. - rac1, Oct 26, 2014

Notice how she has double lined the misspelled word? Isn't that sad :( - 00ffada9, Oct 26, 2014
"offical" jejej - rac1, Oct 26, 2014
Maybe she was going for fecal or offal or a combination of the two. - gringojrf, Oct 26, 2014

I reserve the right to remain isolated and ignorant of the rest of the world.

Yes, make English official, only then we will learn it.

Whoever made that sign without a doubt knows how to write their national language "good". (Please note that "good" is an intentional error- and one I hear on a daily basis from people- at least in English.)

Poor English language supports very much, because everybody twists it.

Obviously the decrepit woman doesn´t want an official language, but a bastardized language.

Hi Julian. I don't think decrepit works here. despicable maybe? - gringojrf, Oct 26, 2014
Maybe, but I don´t know if there is a good translation. "Despicable" seems too strong, no? - 005faa61, Oct 26, 2014
Maybe just stupid or foolish? But decrepit is more like feeble. Really old people are decrepit. Although some days I feel like I am fast approaching it. - gringojrf, Oct 26, 2014
Remember in Mexico "la vieja" doesn´t always mean "the old woman". It´s a mild way of showing lack of respect in this case - 005faa61, Oct 26, 2014
Agreed. But the English decripit doesn't express the same idea as vieja does in Spanish. - gringojrf, Oct 27, 2014
sorry spelling error (lol) decrepit. - gringojrf, Oct 27, 2014
I agree, and I still don´t know the English equivilant - 005faa61, Oct 27, 2014
You could use "wretched" or "reprehensible" or maybe "contemptible". - rac1, Oct 27, 2014
Thanks rac1 I was unable to think of any of those words, even though I know them all. I would go with wretched. - gringojrf, Oct 27, 2014

I strongly recommend not to turn language into a political issue.

Well, from a Spanish or Belgian point of view... Or in Québec, or Finland... A language strife may be a laughing matter, but only for outsiders.;-) - Castor77, Oct 27, 2014

This person may also be one who screams at the U.S. government: "Keep your hands off my Medicare!" (a government program that underwrites health care for citizens sixty-five and older)

Good thing to remember, rac. They shouldn't be deprived of something they've been promised and that they've paid into. Still, we've all seen the small-government types want to demolish every program but the one that benefits them. Nothing against old - AnnRon, Oct 27, 2014

¿No?

I think I see "Texas" in the background. It's the northernmost of the Mexican states governed by white people. Isn't it?
