Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Here is the previous Picture of the Day: Drunk as can be!

And here is the Picture of the Day:

True Story: When I was in the Army in Alaska a friend hit a moose while riding a motorcycle. Surprisingly niether was injured.

Note: Moose and elk are different animals yet the Spanish word is the same.

My friend was drunk. I don't know about the moose. He left before we could give him a breathalyzer test.

I guess there are neither elk or moose in any Spanish speaking country. - gringojrf, Oct 4, 2014
elk and moose are different animals? whooaa I didn't know that!! - 003e54f5, Oct 4, 2014
deer=ciervo & elk= ciervo canadiense,it's confuse but good to know the diference :D - 003e54f5, Oct 4, 2014
Hey Gringo, I think you can also use 'ser militar' for 'being in the army' :) - Kiwi-Girl, Oct 4, 2014
In Mexico we use chocar for accidents/crashes. Golpear for hitting or punching. Thanks for the other corrections. I really appreciate your input. - gringojrf, Oct 4, 2014
aah yes but I tought you wanted to say 'golpear(hit)' instead of 'chocar(crash)' ;) - 003e54f5, Oct 4, 2014

It may be that they are dangerous, but for me they look like peaceful animals.

But the moose only eats the cars served with ketchup and chips though.

or about 'Ketchup'? yes too :D - 003e54f5, Oct 4, 2014

I was wondering what happened with the moose that escaped from that secret project of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, in which they were trying to train moose to serve as attack animals.

The wife is speaking to her husband: "Do you think that perhaps now might be a good time to choose a different route (road)?! I have a bad feeling that we might never get home alive! Please turn back now (right away) love...pleaaaassseeee!"

The husband replies: What? And (must we) miss out on the chance to take photos of the moose? We might never get the chance again!

To miss out pasar o salir perdiendo

Editor's note/s: Pablo, and other readers, I found this caption very difficult to translate in parts and am feeling very stupid that I couldn't work out how to do it! ; ( I think that I have probably made a right mess of it! :(:(:( I know that I still have a lot to learn in my Spanish and sometimes feel discouraged that some verbal constructions and expressions seem so dificult to master, in particular: when to use the subjunctive vs indicative (eg ¿Crees que puede ser que ahora podría (o pueda?) ser un buen momento elegir otro camino) and how to translate the English word might (be) in some sentences. Still, looking on the bright side, I will probably have the opportunity, through this post, to learn from lots of mistakes or should I say 'moosetakes' lol hehehe!

This moose just had a bad day at the hairdresser's, so it's hardly surprising that he wants to eat a car...
