Sorry for the delay on this post. Today has been busy!

Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Here is the previous Picture of the Day: Very lazy

And here is today's picture:

What stupidity, he escaped from jail by a tunnel directly to the police station.

Moe, I would turn the sentence around and say: Maurice se metamorfoseó ( o se transformó) en una rata para huir (o escaparse) de la febril competitividad de la vida moderna .I hope this helps! - FELIZ77, Apr 30, 2014
Feliz, as to "la febril competitivid de la vida moderna" versus "carrera de ratas" see SD's phrasebook here ----. http://www.spanishdict.com/phrasebook/1429/its-a-rat-race - Moe, Apr 30, 2014
As to re-ordering the sentence, that would alter the impact of the metamorhosis relative to the escape and reduce the humour of the sentence as written. - Moe, Apr 30, 2014
OKay Moe, I understand that,. The verb metamorphose is still in the past (the preterite) in English but the present indicative in Spanish! - FELIZ77, May 1, 2014
It seems odd to me, but perhaps this construction is acceptable.. I will wait to see what a native says eg Sylyon , Nelson or Jctv says: :) - FELIZ77, May 1, 2014
Btw I found the translation for rat race in Oxford Spanish Dictionary (4th./newest edn) - FELIZ77, May 1, 2014

He recently decided to ’take up’ potholing in his spare time, and also during his lunch breaks, but his boss ordered him to fill in the hole in his office floor last friday and then he suddenly disappeared (left) with all the company’s money! The last (news) they heard, he was helping police with their enquiries in Australia!

If I hurry up and finish, I could possibly arrive to China before sunset.

Hello jphip. Suggestion that 'reach' or 'get' instead of 'arrive' would sound better. :) - GabriellaMonique, May 1, 2014

He was lying simply so much, that the ground opened under him and now his companions are looking for him, widening the hole
