Hello everyone,

The Picture of the Day. Game for practicing and having fun.

- Guidelines -

Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy. ;^)

Remember to correct your posts as suggested. Posts that are not corrected cannot be "accepted".

Please give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

I will advise on the Spanish part, and I'm still looking for volunteers on the English part.

This is the previous: Picture of the day: Cancerbero

There must be a rabbit hole somewhere near here.

Or a chicken pen. O un gallinero.

Man- It's boiling hot and I'm wearing a fur coat!

Don't worry. It'll be freezing cold during the night. :) - Naya_Dask, Nov 2, 2013
We don't use "hervir" for weather. I would say: "¡Hace un calor tremendo (or similar) y llevo un abrigo de piel!" :) - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013

If I can build up enough speed and flap these big things attached to my head really hard, I'm sure I can fly.

yes, I think so too. - annierats, Nov 1, 2013
I would say "Si pudiera alcanzar suficiente velocidad y sacudir (agitar is okay) muy fuerte estas cosas pegadas a mi cabeza, estoy seguro de que podría volar". Overall great answer! - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013

In my family we have very big prick- ears, because these lose heat and help us keep cool We hear well too!.

Good to know sister desert fox! :) - Naya_Dask, Nov 2, 2013
I think "muy grandes y puntiagudas, que irradian calor y nos ayudan a mantenernos frescos." would be a direct translation of your English version. For your approach: "para que irradien calor y nos mantengamos frescos". Very good! - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013

My dad said that the “Desert Rats” were brave soldiers, but I´m going to prove that desert foxes are better.

"los zorros del desierto son mejores (in general)" or "los zorros del desierto somos mejores (we)" Very good! - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013

This one is for Ray.

The aussies like to go on walk-abouts, I'd rather run.

Perfect! Just a piece of extra info: this is very common to say: "la arena quema" (like on the beach). :) - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013
Of course. I hear quema all the time, - gringojrf, Nov 2, 2013

That's a though one. I would say: "la felicidad suprema". Plus: I can't find a translation for "freedom romp" that sounds better than yours. But I get the idea and I like it. Thanks Rajaji. - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013

Hey, look at me! I'm wandering about in the middle of nowhere, but I look like I know where I'm going.

Hola RC. Can I use ''parezco'' instead of ''parece'' to match ''I look like'' or will it sound absurd? - Naya_Dask, Nov 2, 2013
"Parezco" would be okay in other context. I think that "parece que (yo)..." fits better here. :) - RelaxingCup, Nov 2, 2013
OK. I keep the ''yo'' then. Thanks RC. :) - Naya_Dask, Nov 2, 2013
