When the train starts to crawl, they go flying for it.

Cuando el tren comienza a vanzar lentamente, van volando a por él.

I would use "van volando hacia él" (towards) or "van volando a por él" (to catch it). Plus: "gatear" is only used for babies. Use "el tren comienza a vanzar lentamente" (start moving at slow pace) :) - RelaxingCup, Oct 19, 2013
