Thanks Diagonx and Franco a.a.o. for helping us out with the Spanish (whenever you can and want!), while we are still waiting for a new 'official' corrector! Your help is highly appreciated!

We are looking for an official corrector of the Spanish sentences for this thread, so if you are interested, please send a PM to either rac1 or me.

As there are lots of native English speakers here, most of them can offer suggestions to the English sentences. I shall try to help as much as I can too, of course.

Here are the rules of the game:

  • Use the word in an English sentence and add the Spanish translation of that sentence. Try to use the word in an original way. Use your own words!

  • Vote for the sentences that you like most.

  • Write sentences of at least 5 words, but don't write paragraphs of 4 sentences or more.

  • Correct your sentences according to the suggestions of the corrector.

  • The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

  • Respect the rules of SpanishDict.

  • Enjoy the game and always keep in mind that all of us are here to learn.

Mi frase/my sentence:

This water projector projects sparkling, relaxing water movements on your ceiling. It is as if you are underwater, looking up.

Este proyector de agua proyecta los movimientos brillantes y relajantes del agua en tu techo. Es como si estuvieras bajo el agua, mirando hacia arriba.

Along the coastline of Chile, there are many huge rocks that project from the ocean.

A lo largo de la costa de Chile, hay muchas piedras enormes que sobresalir del sobresalen en el mar.

Hace tiempo, la voz de Dios se proyectaba desde piedras y arbustos en llamas, pero hoy en día, si la voz divina se proyectara otra vez, no la notaríamos ni siquiera si Díos nos estuviera gritando desde el aparcamiento del hípermercado, porque estamos tan bien habituados a tanto ruido de nuestros móbiles, los radios y la música eterna en cualquier sitio donde hay gente .

Long ago, the voice of God projected from rocks and burning bushes, but nowadays, we're so used to constant noise from our mobile phones, the radio, and the eternal music played wherever there are people, that we wouldn't notice the divine voice, not even if God shouted at us from the supermarket carpark.

Some people project their feelings and frustrations on others. And it is just so obvious.

Alguna gente suele proyectar sus sentimientos y frustraciones en los demás. Y es bastante obvio.

In my view this kind of government attitude projects a shadow over our hopes for the future.

En mi opinión, este tipo de actitud del gobierno proyecta una sombra sobre nuestras esperanzas para el futuro.

Una cantante de ópera tiene que proyectar su voz para que todo el mundo puede oirla.

It is projected that all of us here at SD will speak and understand more Spanish in the coming year as a direct result of this thread.

Se prevé que todos de nosostros acá en SD hablaremos y entenderemos más español en el próximo año como consecuencia directa de este hilo.
