Very interesting use of brief! Generally speaking a brief is a document or a summary. A legal brief states the facts and points of law of a client's case. Brief can mean a short period of time. And briefs can refer to men's underwear. - bandit51jd, Sep 25, 2012

Either hooves or hoofs will work here. Per Merriam-Webster they use hooves as the preference. Also you might consider, "through the desert" and "with their camels" (more descriptive and personal to match your wonderful photos) - bandit51jd, Sep 30, 2012
In Ian's example he used "across" rather than "through". - bandit51jd, Sep 30, 2012
