Axe

The idea is to find an English words or phrases "related" to the word "axe" – verb and / or noun

In other words any “hand weapon” or tool

and

write a simple sentence in English and Spanish for that word.

Example:

Axes are among the oldest weapons and tools known to mankind.

Las hachas están entre las más antiguas armas y herramientas conocidas para la humanidad.

Photobucket ...............

Pictures would be nice . Mariana has kindly agreed to be the “official” corrector of the Spanish.

I think I can manage being the “unofficial” corrector for the English, je je

Mariana, I'm not at all sure about Spanish for axe to grind, the interés creado was in the dictionary but it sounds very odd? - annierats, Nov 20, 2011
You're right with the expression..it's fine. No accent on "empleo" and "ha terminado" - --Mariana--, Nov 20, 2011
Another way to say it is: Tengo un interés personal. - --Mariana--, Nov 20, 2011

Django era un hacha con la guitarra Django Reinhardt

Django was a guitar genius.3 Django examples

I'm playing with hacha type of axe and the slang for genius and... just to be really sneaky grin ... in jazz (and rock) circles, an "axe" is an instrument for playing jazz (or rock) on, in this case, the guitar.

That's probably why practicing on one's instrument is called "wood-shedding" in old hipster slang, you're working with your "axe".

"Careful with that axe Eugene"wink

And for obsessives, cool smile Les Paul on Django

And for Spanish learners, here is an Argentinian TV programme in Spanish about Django Argentinian Spanish TV about Django

My band teacher in high school used to tell us to "get wood-shedding." We knew it meant practicing very hard, but I never had it explained. Thanks! - JoyceM, Nov 20, 2011

An example of a prehistoric tool is the antler from a red deer. It was shaped into a one-pointed tool rather than the modern day pickax.

Un ejemplo de una herramienta prehistórica es el cuerno de un ciervo rojo. Se formó Lo formaron en una herramienta de punta única en vez del pico de día moderno.
