What does "le dejo...en..." mean?

What does "le dejo...en..." mean?

According to my textbook, "le dejo...en..." means "I'll give...to you for..."

But doesn't "le" refer to him/her? Not "you"?

Also, doesn't dejo come from the infinitive verb "dejar" which means to leave?

So wouldn't the sentence instead be "I leave him.... in..."?

Thanks for the help!

dejar can mean to allow, to permit, to let as well as to leave, etc.

le can refer to you (usted) singular, formal

te (tú) for you, singular, informal

[le can also refer to her, him as you said. It is the 3rd person, singular indirect object pronoun so it is used for him, her, it (infrequently) and you (usted) (2nd person, formal)] The 2nd person, singular, formal (usted) uses 3rd person, singular verb endings, pronouns, etc.

It would help if you provided the entire sentence that dejar was used in so that we might discern its context.
