Let's see if you get the meaning of this:

Cuando era adolescente , tenía en el armario un póster de The Police y daba la turra en el bloque con el cassete de Outlandos d'Amour a todo meter.

Let's see, give it your best try. No natives please!!wink

When I was a teenager, I had a poster of The Police on my closet and gave the whole block a head rattling by playing the Outlandos d'Amour cassette at full blast.

I think Lorenzo was really close too, or actually he said the same, I am not familiar with the "give a taste" bit, however, I liked the rattling part, very good Moewink

dar la turra: be a pain, get on people's nerves

a todo meter: at full blast, when talking about cars, at full speed

Here is my guess.

When I was a teenager I had a poster of the Police on my closet door. I would walk around the block playing the tape Outlandos d'Amour for everyone to hear.

  • jeje, quite close...how did you do that?? not quite there though....keep trying - Heidita Nov 3, 2009 flag

Omg , I think we can include natives here, as Roberto has just mentioned this is even too colloquial and Spanish from Spain for him...keep trying, let's see who comes up with the closest.

zied...not even close...lol

When I was an adolescent, I had a poster of the Police in my closet. I would walk around the block as quickly as possible playing the tape Outlandos d'Amour.

It would either be "let the whole block know it" or "gave the block an earful".

When I was a teenager, I used to have a poster of The Police on my dresser, and I would go around the block with the tape Outlandos d'Amour (playing) at full volume.

When I was a teenager, I had a poster of The Police in my closet and I would act a fool going around my block playing my Outlandos d'Amour tape.
