When you open the "ask a question" tab, you get this when you click on more.

Escpecially newcomers have the tendency not to read this, titles are wrong, categories, no context...

This is part of the rules of this forum, it was implemented when we started this new site.

Please read:

Tip: put phrases to be translated in quotes. more > Good: "how are you?"

Tip: be complete but concise. Good: Is "interesante" used properly in the sentence, "Su amigo Roberto es interesante"?

Tip: don't leave the topic out of the title. Bad: Please translate this...

Tip: don't feel obliged to use complete sentences when you just need a phrase translation. Bad: ¿Como se dice "I got lost" en español? Good: "I got lost"

Tip: be specific. Bad: Do I use a plural? Good: Do I use a plural in the phrase "The geese flew overhead"?

Please have a look at this thread:

Heidita:

Members need to keep in mind that the Question Entry Box has 3 parts as follows:

Question (or header)

Catagory (for classifying questions)

Description (The body of the question)

For anyone reading this Post/Question, it helps to know that ALL of the "tips" highlighted in your question above are references to the Question/Header and not to the Description/Body.

Recuerdos/Regards,

Moe.

I think a good tip is to be polite when asking a question. Saying "please" and "thank you" goes a long way.

The tip about not being obligated to use complete sentences seems confusing and a bit contradictory to me when contrasted with the tips immediatly above and below it.

No problems following rules and suggestions here, I just need to be clear about what they are.
