HACER UNA PREGUNTA future subjunctive
3 Respuestas
DR1960, the future subjunctive has not been used for centuries. It survives in some sayings, and in some legal terminology (to sound more solemn and cryptic), but most natives don't even know how to use it. Any sentence with the future subjunctive properly used, can be replaced with the present indicative, but the reverse is not true, so don't try to use this tense unless someone who really knows how to use it, explains it to you. But you are not likely to need it, unless you want to learn ancient literature in its original form. Just use the present subjunctive:
I hope you will visit us next week = Espero que nos visites la semana que viene
That example is too simple.
Even in English we can say " I hope [that] you visit us next week" using the present tense for a future time.
You have a good question, just come up with a harder example to translate without using the future tense.
We've had threads on this before if you care to search for one.
Suggestions: teach yourself to quit dropping the [that] as we customarily do in English. Spanish requires the "que" and you'll be more likely to forget to use it if it's not there in your English.
