An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g., Everybody please stand up.).

b. decir If Ralph knew that Patty was pregnant, he didn't let on. Si Ralph sabía que Patty estaba embarazada, no lo dijo.
An intransitive verb is one that does not require a direct object (e.g., The man sneezed.).
intransitive verb a. insinuar Don't trust her. She's not as innocent as she likes to let on. No confíes en ella. No es tan inocente como insinúa.
b. aparentar Marcelo lets on that he's my friend, but he has hidden motives. Marcelo aparenta ser un amigo, pero tiene segundas intenciones.
