usage note
The way you express what floor something is on depends on the variety of English that you're using. In American English, "la planta baja" is called "the first floor", and "la primera planta" is "the second floor", and so on. In British English, the floors are numbered as in Spanish. For this reason "la planta baja" is "the ground floor", and "la primera planta" is "the first floor", and so on.
