1. this one (en general); these (ones) (plural)

dame otro boli, é. no funciona -> give me another pen, this one doesn't work

2. the latter (recién mencionado)

3. (informal) (despectivo)

éstos son los culpables de todo lo ocurrido -> it's this lot who are to blame for everything
