Hello, Hola;
I am a newcomer to this Forum. I would like to learn Spanish.
I have forgotten many Spanish words. I have trouble putting sentences together correctly, and I have trouble with verbs of past-present-future tense.
Also, I am trying to understand, and to translate some poetry of Antonio Machado's.
I will appreciate any assistance.
Thank you.

Hola Eric, y gracias.
The lessons will be good for me.
I have had Spanish 1 in University, but it was over ten years ago. I haven't stayed in practice.

I't dont take long to catch back up...
It took me just about 2 months to learn all numbers (uno - mil millones) colors (verde, azul, gris, celeste) foods (el huevo, la papa, una ensalada) verbs (acampar, cocinar, leer, nadar) languages (inglés, español, chino, francés, japones) definate articles (la, el, los, las) indefinate articles (un, una, unoa, unas) famialy members ( el abuelo, la abuela, la hermana, el hermano, el padre, la madre, la hija, el hijo)
basic phrases (Me llamo Eric, ¿Cómo se llama', ¿Dónde está el baño', and much more (y mucho más) countries (los Estados Unidos, España, Brasil, China, Japon, Rusia, Argentina) that is about all I know
So I have a good command over the basics

You're doing great, Eric, especially with the use of accents. Let's keep working on punctuation. It's hard for me to believe that you've been studying Spanish for only six months. Keep up the good work!
I will, I guess you know Spanish fluent don't you?
By some technical definition, yes, I have been declared "fluent." But I still have a lot to learn, and I still make mistakes. That is why I am here. I have been learning Spanish for nine years now (mostly by interacting with people and studying on my own, without taking any serious classes), but I want to be constantly improving my skills.
I am impressed with how much you have learned in six months! Do you have any opportunities to train your ear (listening to spoken Spanish) or interact in person with native Spanish speakers? I would be surprised if you do, there where you live (I am familiar with your town.). That is one of the most important things you can do. I have met people that have taken 3 or 4 years of Spanish in high school, have made all A's, and can write and speak fairly well, but when they try to talk to native speakers, they can hardly understand a thing.
I don't want that to happen to you. You are working very hard at this. If you keep going that way, you have a great future ahead of you in the Spanish language.
I don't know what I am? Mabey a advanced beginner or a low intermediate...
I'm not sure, but probably in that range. Have you taken any placement tests for school'
No I will just be in 9th grade next year, and You can't take it until you are in 11th grade.
I'm not sure, but probably in that range. Have you taken any placement tests for school?
I meant a Spanish placement test, to see what level you are at. Did you take any Spanish in middle school? If so, you might be able to take a placement test to determine if you have the knowledge and skill to skip Spanish I. If you could take Spanish II in 9th grade, that will enable you to go all the way through Spanish V (five) while you are still in high school. That would be great for you! Maybe you should ask your guidance counselor (or whatever they're called now) about taking a placement test for Spanish.
I can't do that at my school
You would just have to know my strict schools rules, I am looking for one online now though. I will reply when I finish my online placement test.
At my school, there is NO Spanish in Middle School, and you have ONLY one semester that is required in 11th grade. So I can't take it for a while.
That's good, Eric! You keep working hard, and take the test again in a month or two, and lets see how far you advance!
Hey, would you mind letting me know where you can take that online placement test? I think it might be good for some people I'm helping learn Spanish.
