descuidado

I used the word "descuidado" in this sentence to describe women being being neglected in the workforce during Franco's time and how now its different because they're more women in the workforce:

"La afluencia de las mujeres a los trabajos tiene un gran impacto a la vida cultural española que tradicionalmente descuidado a las mujeres en el mundo profesional. "

did i use this word correctly'

'descuida' seems like it would fit better, but I think that desprecia would be a better term to use.

The above are my suggested changes. There are surely other possibilities.

At any rate, descuidado is a past participle, and can't be used as a verb as you used it.

Not normal? It gets 1.8 million googits, and I have seen it written that way countless times. It's colloquial, but that is the only possible way to spell it if you want to convey how the words were actually pronounced by someone. Saying the spelling is not normal is like saying that "gonna" is not normal.

That said, I myself would write out the two words as you suggest. But my point was that "they're" can NEVER be used to mean "there are," as the original poster had used it. This is an extremely common error (actually, the whole group of there, their, they're, and there're seems to confuse people), and I thought my correction might be useful to the writer.
