this may help:

or (in Word and some other processors) you can hold "ctrl" while hitting the ' [apostrophe] key and then pressing the letter you would like the accent on
Are you referring to how to use them with words or how to type them?
If you consult the Reference section you will find an article on accentuation (Accents). In that article you will see that accent marks are used to place accent (stress) on vowels where the general rules would not place it or diacritically to distinguish between words such as él and el or sé and se.
If you are asking how to make the accent marks then there is a different article in the Resources section (Typing) that refers to how to type them. There are several different methods, but the simplest, in my opinion, is to install a keyboard thats allows them to be typed. My choice is the US International keyboard that lets you make the áéíóú with the apostophe key and the äëïöü with the quotation key. There are also punctuation key combinations for making the ¡¿ñ°, etc.
Referring to Laynze Z's reply: the installed keyboard also works in Word so it is preferrable to just using those key combinations in Word, but it does not override them. You may still use Word's key combinations if desired.
