ASK A QUESTION Sentarse
Hola,
Quiero comprender ''sentarse".
Does... 'un hombre le sentO al lado de ella' mean a man sat down next to her.
O necesito poner 'se'?
I'm getting confused with this reflexive.
Otro ejemplo: Me sentE en la mesa. (I sat down on the table')
Lo siento, No sE como usar acentos en mi Mac. (So i used capitals).
Gracias!

O necesito poner 'se'? Yes, you have to.
Me sentE en la mesa. (I sat down on the table') (at the table, not on!)
Could be on for "sentarse en la mesa" or at for "sentarse a la mesa"
Option + e + the letter you want.
For instance, here's how to get an e with an accent:
While holding 'option', click 'e'. Let go of all keys, then click 'e' again. é
For a capital letter, do the same thing but when you click 'e' the 2nd time, hold down 'shift'. ÿ
Don't call it reflexive, because it confuses everybody, since a reflexive verb is when you do something to yourself (like "me lavo" - "I wash myself"). Call it pronominal, and remember that verbs used like this just need a 'se' to go with it, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. There are literally thousands of verbs that are or can be used pronominally in Spanish.
Me siento
Te sientas
Se sienta
Nos sentamos
Os sentáis
Se sientan
Like this, llamarse and many many others.
"Sentarse en la mesa" and "sentarse a la mesa" mean the same = seat at the table
Seat ON the table = sentarse encima de la mesa
