Could the longitudinal axis a weld be called the cordon? There is an accent above the second o in the Spanish text.

Un cordón de soldadura es todo el recorrido que haces cuando vas derritiendo el electrodo.
Hay varios tipos de cordones dependiendo de la posición o lo que estes soldando.
Cordón en techo, horizontal, vertical, plano?

Cuando das soldadura para amarrar una pieza, se le llama Punto de soldadura.
Un punto que sueles dar para dejar una pieza presentada y seguir montando, para posteriormente ponerte a darle los cordones correspondientes para dejar la pieza completamente soldada.

Thanks Mogor, I think I get the gist, but my Spanish language skills are not good enough to be 100% sure. I think Cordon is the same as chord in English?
