Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day! This is a game where you can all practice your Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time! Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the answer I feel is the best, the fact that the person has corrected their post and possibly the number of votes. Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos. . Please encourage everyone with a vote. . .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun.

Previous Picture of the day: A rather large scaredy cat.

I'm gonna 'hot foot it' out of here.

Voy a huir rápidamente de este lugar.

[literally: I'm going to quickly escape from this place.]

or you could also finish with the words: 'de aquí', instead of este lugar (sitio) - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
"hot foot" could really be quite literal if she doesn't hurry. lol - Findy, Apr 5, 2017

Ray, I would suggest: I hope that it's a very big barbecue = Espero que sea una gran barbacoa/ que sea una barbacoa muy grande - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
or ...That seems to be a very big barbecue. I hope so.=Esa parece ser una barbacoa muy grande. ¡Espero que sí! I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
Thanks Feliz , the second suggestion is closer to what I am trying to say. Thanks mate . - ray76, Apr 3, 2017

Evacuating is usually easier said than done.

Ian, I think that the word veo would sound more natural at the beginning of your sentence: Veo que etc....:) - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
I wondered about that Feliz. - ian-hill, Apr 3, 2017
haha Good one! Sometimes that what our yard looks like when I get the barbecue going! - Findy, Apr 5, 2017

Hmm, that last sacrifice didn't appease the gods for very long. I know, this time we should offer a male virgin.

Matt, you forgot to add the negativa to your Spanish sentence: "... esto último sacrificio no apaciguó....durante (o por) mucho tiempo .. - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
(No personal pronoun 'yo' necessary!) I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Apr 3, 2017
Thanks, Feliz - mattb1of6, Apr 3, 2017

I have to gather the harvest before my feet are held to the fire.

The woman is pushing the wheelbarrow with a volcanic smoke in the background.

The woman: "Oh, heck! I thought (that) I had reminded my husband this morning not to start to cook until I had taught him how to cook properly (well)! It seems to me that he's burnt the dinner again! Why does he never listen?!" (The sighs!) Well, I warned him yesterday, the next time you try to cook dinner without me, I'm leaving!" (I will leave you!)

Volcanic ash is good for crops but not people. Drop the wheelbarrow and run!

I hope that in the wheelbarrow, she takes her grandson and they both go quickly to safety.
