The Irish always put on a good show on St. Patrick's Day.
Los irlandeses siempre puso un buen espectáculo el día de San Patricio.

When I lived in Alaska we would stand outside as long as we could to watch the most spectacular show of mother nature. They (the northern lights) only come in winter and it is fricking cold outside.
Cuando vivía en Alaska nos parariamos afuera por tan tiempo como podiéramos para ver el show más espectacular de la madre naturaleza. Ellos (los luces del norte) solo vengan en invierno y hace un chingo de frío afuera.
Debe ser un gran experiencia de ver esta luz maravillosa, pero in Europa podemos ver in Noruega o en cualquier lugar en alrededor del polo ártico.
It should be a great experience to see this wonderful light, but in Europe we can see it in Norway or anywhere around the arctic pole.

Cuando partículas cargadas que vienen del sol interactúan con moléculas en la atmósfera de la tierra, pueden excitarlas (causar que se trasladen las los electrones a una órbita con un nivel de energía más alto). Cuando estas moléculas pierden esta energía, la emiten en forma de luz. Donde este proceso ocurre es influido por la magnetósfera y por eso suele suceder cerca de los polos.
When charged particles that come from the sun interact with molecules in the Earth's atmosphere, they can excite them (cause the electrons to move to an orbit with a higher energy level). When these molecules lose this energy, they emit it in the form of light. Where this process occurs is influenced by the magnetosphere and so it usually happens near the poles.
