Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!**

This is a game where we can practice our Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain more or less exactly as RelaxingCup designed them and H C A student continued.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and post one or so captions and no photos.

Please encourage everyone with a vote. smile

. .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Meow! Chess is easy for me... it's just a game of cat and mouse.

¡Miau!

One advantage of being a cat is that your pieces do not have to be moved under the same rules as those of mere mortals.

Chess pieces are called "piezas" in Spanish. "Fichas" are domino pieces. OK? - Daniela2041, Aug 25, 2015
Thanks, Daniela. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 25, 2015
'mover' better than 'trasladar' actually I don't know if it is better it just that no one would say 'trasladar' for this case :D - Pablo064, Aug 25, 2015
If no one would say it that way, then mover is better, it is not all about the grammar, it is also about what words people actually say. Thanks, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 25, 2015

This player is trying to look nonchalant in front of the board.

Just like a cat to sneak in an extra move while he thinks no one is looking.

(Please correct my Spanish.)

:) - Pablo064, Aug 25, 2015
Pablo, I made the second change, but I'm not sure "que cuela" says exactly what I'm trying to say. I don't mean to be stubborn. It's just that in English, "just like a cat that sneaks an extra move" implies that this cat is like another cat somewhere . . - AnnRon, Aug 26, 2015
whereas I'm trying to say that to sneak an extra move is a characteristic of cats in general. Maybe the distinction doesn't hold true in Spanish? - AnnRon, Aug 26, 2015
I understand you Ann and I think that 'colar/meter' can go well - Pablo064, Aug 27, 2015

The Los Gatos Blancos defense uses a P-QN3 (pawn to queen knight three) opening...

Nobody can win the cat playing chess. He has had (got?) Seven lives to learn

;) - 000a35ff, Aug 26, 2015
Nobody can "beat" the cat playing chess. - is correct amigo. - ian-hill, Aug 26, 2015
Or, "He's had seven"..... or "He's got seven" both are correct, but somehow "He's had" sounds much better. :) - rac1, Aug 26, 2015
