adjective ( funny, amusing )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

A algunas personas les gusta vestirles a sus mascotas de disfraces graciosos, bueno, por lo menos graciosos para los dueños, pero a veces me pregunto qué piensan los animales en sobre esto, y si se preguntan por qué no hubieran tenido dueños más normales.

Tengo una historia graciosa que contarte. Una vez una señorita americana quiso montar un caballo en México. Fue a una escuela de equitación. El profesor de equitación no sabía que la gringa fuera una jinete muy hábil. Por eso su caballo fue estuvo atado conducido con una cuerda todo el tiempo. Después de la lección, la señorita, que no hablaba español muy bien, dijo que "Vamos a montar sin ropa mañana, por favor". El maestro dijo que "Usted puede montar sin ropa si quiere, pero ni yo". Creo que el profesor imaginaba a la señorita americana como "Lady Godiva". ¡Qué gracioso!

I have a funny story to tell you. One time an American young lady wanted to ride a horse in Mexico. She went to a riding school. The riding instructor did not know that the gringo* was a very skillful rider. Therefore her horse was tied lead with a rope the whole time. After the lesson the young lady, who did not speak Spanish very well said "Let's ride without clothes (she meant rope) tomorrow please." The teacher said "You can ride without clothes if you want, but not I." I think the instructor imagined the American lady as Lady Godiva. How funny!

• As far as I can tell, gringo is an accepted English word, but gringa for a female gringo is not. Therefore, in the English I used gringo in the English translation even though I am talking about a woman. Does anyone disagree?
