Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

Spanishdict gives both "sireno" and "triton" for "merman." I went with "sireno" because "triton" also translates as "newt." But maybe it is the better choice anyway? - AnnRon, Nov 10, 2014

romper el hielo = to break the ice: which means to overcome natural reserve/ shyness or timidness.

Editors note: I believe that I have succeeded in using /making a play on words (pun) here in both Spanish and English. I have learnt from experience that the phrase must have both a literal and a figurative meaning in each language and that this shared meaniing must be the same in both languages.

I could immediately see that this idiom means the same in the literal and metaphorical sense in English, but I realized that for it to work in Spanish, which was my original intention, the Spanish idiom would have to be able to be translated the same: romper el hielo. If this English idiom 'to break the ice' had been translated in a different way, then there would have been no successful pun/or play on words.

All that is needed is the chum, the boat, and the saying, "your're gonna need a bigger boat"; or in this case, the saying, "oh my god is it cold".

Todo lo que se necesita es el “chum”, el barco y el refrán, "va a necesitar un barco más grande"; o en este caso, el refrán, "oh Dios mío es frío".
