Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Thank you H C A mate for working so tirelessly for us all , you are indeed one of life's treasures and a "legend" mate. Thanks . - ray76, Sep 16, 2014
You're going to make me blush! It's YOU who deserves all the credit Ray! Without all your work, SpanishDict would be a fraction of it's true potential! - 00ffada9, Sep 16, 2014
Keep'em coming amigo - ian-hill, Sep 16, 2014
This picture suggests a 'Paws for thought' moment lol - FELIZ77, Sep 17, 2014

? ?To dream the impossible dream, to fight the impossible fight.? ?

Love it! - 00ffada9, Sep 16, 2014
Sorry for breaking the rules , but I could not resist , I am Australian after all. - ray76, Sep 16, 2014
I don't see any rules broken. What rule do you mean? You posted duo translation, you only posted one, and you didn't post an image. I see nothing wrong! - 00ffada9, Sep 16, 2014
I think he is referring to the fact that he used the lyrics of a song. - rac1, Sep 16, 2014
As far as I can tell, there's no rule against that. Post songs by all means! - 00ffada9, Sep 16, 2014
It's the Word of the Day thread that has a rule against song lyrics, I think. - AnnRon, Sep 16, 2014
It is in fact, Ann, but it should be noted that it is better not to use them on any thread. We encourage using your own words. :) - rac1, Sep 16, 2014
Sometimes a lyric is just so perfect for this thread that it's hard to resist. :>) - AnnRon, Sep 17, 2014
I apologise to all, but we have to bend in the wind a little or the tree will surly break. : ) - ray76, Sep 17, 2014
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. - ray76, Sep 17, 2014

RefresqueLaDataciónDelGato.com: "Hola, gatitas. Me llamo Fluffy. Me gusta hilo, camina debajo de la luna encima una valla, y levantamiento de pesas."

CoolCatDating.com: "Hello kitties. My name is Fluffy. I like yarn, moonlight walks along the top of a fence, and weight-lifting."

When my master lies underneath the big one of these things, he grunts and groans and sweats. I don't understand. It has no effect on me whatsoever.

No entiendo.

After seeing all the photos in which the mice are defeating the cats recently, I have decided to train by lifting weights in order to be ready. No mouse is going to beat me.

Bosque, “Ningún 'rata' va a vencerme.= No 'rat' is going to beat (defeat) me.” :) - FELIZ77, Sep 16, 2014
I think you could also say: "he decidido entrenarme por levantar pesos" :) - FELIZ77, Sep 16, 2014
Having chased rats in the back alleys of Hong Kong once when it was still a British protectorate, I would never say anyone is always going to win with a rat. ;) - bosquederoble, Sep 16, 2014
I think it is pesas, when lifting weights, and I will wait on seeing if Pablo comments, because one of the specific questions I had in writing this was to see if I could in fact use the gerundio there as an adverb to modify entrenar. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 16, 2014
Somehow where I meant to put "I meant to put mouse" -at the start of my chain of comments -it never showed up. - bosquederoble, Sep 16, 2014
Yes , You are right, Bosque: I should have said: "he decidido entrenarme por levantar pesAs" : Thank you :) - FELIZ77, Sep 16, 2014
I suppose I could have also tried "entrenarme mediante el levamiento de pesas". But I put what I felt like testing out this morning, especially because I defaulted to por with the infinitive a couple of times recently, rather than using the gerundio. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 16, 2014
Okay, sure ...Bosque, thanks for explaining; not that you owed me any explanation lol :) - FELIZ77, Sep 17, 2014
No you suggestions were good, I am just trying not to always say everything the same way. I appreciate your input always. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 17, 2014
Feliz it would be 'ningunA rata' and 'he decidido entrenarme 'mediante levantamiento de' pesas' but Bosque's translation is natural and perfect! :) - 003e54f5, Sep 17, 2014
Gracias, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Sep 17, 2014
Okay, thank you , Pablo :) - FELIZ77, Sep 18, 2014

'¿o mejor a un león?' :) - 003e54f5, Sep 16, 2014
"...myself INto a tiger..." It is common to place an "in" before the "to", and it makes the phrase sound more natural. :) - 00ffada9, Sep 16, 2014
Gracias Hca - porcupine7, Sep 17, 2014

The (female) cat (is) thinking: "I can't wait for the day when I can give that dog, next door, such a beating that he won't know what's hit him, and he won't be able to leave the garden quickly enough! Cat Power, Yeahhhh!" (ie: All power to the cats! Hehehe

what's hit him = what has hit him wink

When they said 'floor weights' I didn't think they meant it would pin me to the floor.

Katy, your tenses didn't match in the Spanish version!: No creía que 'querían' decir = I didn't think (that) they meanT etc... Quieren = mean (present) - FELIZ77, Sep 17, 2014
I'll leave Pablo to sort ut the rest :) - FELIZ77, Sep 17, 2014

That silly human dropped this on his toes and now I'm trying to roll this stupid object out of his way.
