Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!

This is a game where we can practice languages and have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain exactly as RelaxingCup designed them.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and only post one caption and no photos.

Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Here is the previous Picture of the Day: Indian Magic

And here is today's picture:

You otter be ashamed of yourself.

What did I tell you? Don't get in the water! You need to wait about 30 minutes after eating until you can swim.

I remember that rule, is it an old wives tale? :) - Kiwi-Girl, Aug 11, 2014
No, it's actually just common sense. When you've eaten, your blood is working to digest your food, so you have less energy for swimming, and can also get bad cramps from less blood. Nice sentence! But you should put 'minutes' after '30'. :) - Ghosthawk, Aug 12, 2014

I said, "Do you want to dance with me?"

Te dije, ¿Quieres bailar conmigo?

I've told you and I've told you: no swimming until you've done your homework!

Te he dicho y te he dicho: ¡no nadar hasta que hayas hecho tu tarea!

So the second clause is subjunctive because it hasn't happened yet. Do I have that right, pablo? - AnnRon, Aug 11, 2014
Funny , Ann! Good one Hhahha :) - FELIZ77, Aug 12, 2014

I have heard of grabbing the tiger by the tail, but never of grabbing an otter in this way before now.

'pero nunca de agarrar a una nutria de esta manera antes' - 003e54f5, Aug 11, 2014
I suppose that "before now" can be translated as "antes" since that "antes que ahora" it is understood but sounds strange. - 003e54f5, Aug 11, 2014
Gracias, Pablo. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 11, 2014

No swimming means no swimming. You should follow the instructions of the lifeguard, or else...!

Good job ereinoso - don't forget to fill out your profile so we know your native language and the one that you're learning :) For the English it sounds a little more natural to say 'Where do you think you're going? Sigue así , bien hecho :) - Kiwi-Girl, Aug 11, 2014

Arregla tu cuarto primero; luego puedes ir a jugar.

Tidy up your room first; then you can go to play. I know that you are addicted to Hca's game in SpanishDict.

Geeze mom. How embarrasing. All the other little otters moms are letting them play.

How good that the small otter has a comfortable tail and like that its Mom can seize it.
