Nine letter word Challenge - New Version – 9

8
votes

Nine letter word games are very popular in the English speaking world. This is a new version – there are 10 given letters. The idea is to make words of 3 or more of the given letters. Usually it is possible to find a 9 letter word – a 10 letter word gets 20 points immediately. These are the letters for this challenge.

D A G

S E T

B O A - S

The letter highlighted must be used - E

Find an English or Spanish word and then write a sentence in English and Spanish.

Example:

Oxford University is a famous seat of learning.

Universidad de Oxford es una famosa casa de estudios.

oxford university photo: LIbrary at University of Oxford DSCN1835.jpg

After the

first 10 answers

my nine letter word ends the challenge and the poster gets 20 points eventually.

This was the previous challenge

There is no "official" corrector for this game so make suggestions where you can. Gracias.

My hubby & I went on a trip to Oxford for our 25th Anniv. a few years back. It was wonderful to visit Tolkien's hangouts (and his grave). :D - Findy, Feb 5, 2014

Susy - we would normally say "calmER" and not "more calm". single syllable adjectives usually just add "er" :) - ian-hill, Feb 3, 2014
I did my research and they said that either way was correct. But I will change it. Thanks! - 00e46f15, Feb 3, 2014

"drain" doesn't work here in this context, amiga. "My feelings drain me of my strength", or something like that. - rac1, Feb 4, 2014
Gracias, Annie. Ahora que te parece? Se oye bien o no? - 00e46f15, Feb 4, 2014
I would say that one drains - empties a swimming pool Annie. :) - ian-hill, Feb 4, 2014
De todos modos Susy tiene una palabra de 9 letras. - But not MY word.Lo siento Susy. - ian-hill, Feb 4, 2014
Oh! So I have to guess Your word? I think it is "sabotaged" but I think Annie deserves to post that one. :) - 00e46f15, Feb 4, 2014
Your English sentence is fine as it is, Annie. It's exactly how I would say it (if I had a swimming pool!). - Findy, Feb 5, 2014
@Sylyon - you are right. So I will end this game and give Annie the 20 points. - ian-hill, Feb 5, 2014

Soo sorry Susy, this is in Bali , and is a daily event , notice the "basting brush" the heat in there was horrendous and the poor guy has to stand there for 4 hours basting and stoking the fire . - ray76, Feb 4, 2014
Just a touch too much bacon Ray. - ian-hill, Feb 4, 2014
I do love pork crackling. - ray76, Feb 4, 2014
Ray, I can't even find the brush. My eyes only see that poor pig with his tongue sticking out. - 00e46f15, Feb 4, 2014
@ Susy I agree, and worse than that all over the Island you hear the squealing of pigs being slaughtered for tourist s , it is gross. - ray76, Feb 4, 2014
How intriguing. I find that method of cooking pig to be most unusual. Does the pig taste good? - Ghosthawk, Feb 4, 2014
Absolutely delicious , the crackling ist crackling you ever crackled with - ray76, Feb 4, 2014
I bet it tastes awesome, Ray! - Findy, Feb 5, 2014
The first thing I saw was the pig's blue eye...full of pain. I could never go Bali. I would be skewering all the Balinese and basting them. - 0095ca4c, Feb 5, 2014
You are missing nothing Bali is full of drunken louts , the beaches are full of dogs and their messages and hoards of people trying to get your dollar , it is overrated and overpriced , 30 years ago was a paradise , we have wrecked it. - ray76, Feb 5, 2014
