Estaban tristes porque las inundaciones los rodearon a ellos por un chorro con una corriente muy fuerte de agua.

They were sad because the floods surrounded them with gushing water.

Estoy contento que mi motor nuevo así como la relación nueva parecen funcionar bien durante nuestra prueba el fin de semana pasado.

I´m happy that my new motor, as well as the new gearing seem to work well last weekend during our test.

Are you happy or sad? In Spanish you are sad and in English you are happy. - katydew, Sep 14, 2013
Holy crap. I was thinking about a friend telling me she was sad about something when I wrote that. You're right, I on the other hand, and quite happy. I'll fix it! - rogspax, Sep 14, 2013
Hahaha. I thought for a minute you might have a split Spanish/English personality. hahaha - katydew, Sep 15, 2013

Siempre me gusta fingir como que estoy en control de mis emociones.

I always like to pretend that I am in control of my emotions.

Thanks rac , you a gem. - ray76, Sep 15, 2013
@sylyon, Thanks mate, i missed it by > < much , you have just made my day , I slept in after staying up late watching "La Vuelta" a España , oh Susy why "a España" and not " de España" ? - ray76, Sep 15, 2013
"La vuelta a España" a:to (To Spain) de:of (Of Spain). Or "Spain's 'vuelta' " :-) La vuelta can mean different things, I assume you are talking about a trip/ride, right? - 00e46f15, Sep 16, 2013
Incidentally the south of Spain looks like the dry areas of OZ , I was surprised to see how B I G Madrid is , and very modern , my perceptions were all wrong - ray76, Sep 16, 2013
Yes sylyon, "La vuelta a España" is the same as the " Il Giro di Italia" and the " Le Tour de France " therefore I cannot understand why not the "La Vuelta DE Espana? - ray76, Sep 16, 2013
It was very sad to see the end of -El equipo Euskadi Euskaltel. They have been a great force for so long , I hope that someone buys them and starts up again , they have some of the worlds best mountain bike riders. - ray76, Sep 16, 2013
Then, it is perfectly fine to say "La vuelta de España". If you say that it is the same as the "Le Tour de France", etc. - 00e46f15, Sep 16, 2013
Thanks suzy, I shall contact the organisers and tell them they have it wrong , jajajaja. Thank you my friend I learn so much from you , I cannot teach you any English you are too good now , and can probably teach me. - ray76, Sep 16, 2013

I am ecstatic because last week I was able to ride on the obstacle track and on some of the areas around the course at a trot. I was able to sustain the trot and stay on the track!

The logs are not considered a part of the track. I have not learned to trot up the logs. Could it be in my future lessons? Only time will tell!

Bumping this up before I post the last in this series of 'ser, estar, tener'. Don't forget to go back to do corrections folks! And remember to thank the correctors. They give a lot of time to the corrections. Just click, "edit" and fix your mistakes.

Some simple correction tricks: put 2 *'s before and after a word to embolden it. Like this:

I like my SD friends.

Put a > at the beginning of a line to set it in a box to let the person know what you are referring to.

Like this.

If you want to cross something out you need to make a mark like this < s > at the beginning of a word or phrase you want to cross out and then put a < / s > right after it (don't leave spaces) like this:

I don't like my SD friends.
